Broken Gears Breaks 'New Ground' with Groupon

March 1, 2011 - As Texas lawmakers consider taking a shovel to funding for the arts in North Texas, Broken Gears Project Theatre digs into Groupon to raise revenue and build their patron base.
"A 'first' for a small venue theater in Dallas," says a representative for Groupon.
With the help of BGPT fans, friends and the local media concerned about the health of arts funding, the effort went viral on social networking sites, attracting BGPT 2011 Premiere Pass purchases as far away as Tennessee. In just 48 hours the 'gears were greased' and the deal was 'on.'
BGPT would like to thank all of the passionate lovers of 'live' theater in North Texas for helping us to raise revenue as we go it alone in 'The Lone Star' state.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our neighbors to the Northeast for helping us in this effort. Truly, amazing. Is it any wonder why Tennesseans reside in 'The Volunteer State?'
Whomever coined the phrase "show business is a 'dirty' business" probably never had a bad hair day, either.
Right, 'Governor Good Hair?'
